I forgot a big part about yesterday…. I WOKE UP MID SURGERY. I opened my eyes to a sheet over my head and I said, “are y’all almost done?” to which they replied “she’s awake!!!!” The sheet came off my face and I was staring eye to eye with my surgeon and nurses. All I could muster up to say was “hey.” My doctor made sure I was ok and instantly gave me more medicine. The rest is a blur but apparently I told her I wanted to go to The Red Door to eat pancakes. I hate pancakes and I have never been to The Red Door. Who knows what else I said….
Ellen was installed perfectly and the surgery went well. Yep, I named my port Ellen. Ellen and I will be on the couch all day today watching a Law and Order marathon. Thank you for all your prayers, calls and text yesterday. We are recovering nicely!
XOXO
Heather

Hope you enjoy some down time this weekend and I am glad to hear everything went well!
Heather!! Once you are feeling better, you really should go to The Red Door…..I cant speak for their pancakes (not sure they have them) but I love their food!! I am glad you and Ellen are recovering well and taking an off weekend! Maybe you should try some pancakes to see if you like them now! I bet Ellen would appreciate that!! I am still sending prayers and happy thoughts your way.
The pancake story is hilarious!!! And ur my type of girls … Law and order marathons are
My Fav! Think of u often
Ellen,,,, I do know of Glen Ellen Wine, but no Sailors named “ellen”. Perhaps you meant “Evan” But in any case, your daddy can make you some fantastic blackberry pancakes while you are watching Law and Order. (Stay off the lonesome dove channel… its addictive according to your uncle Jimbo!) Love you and Derek both…
H- I am continuously impressed with ur outlook and attitude. I constantly get goosebumps as I read your blogs. Keep them coming! There’s no other way to fight, other than fancy. Keep the positive outlook, it goes a long way. Following and cheering from afar.
Didnt we go to a place called the red door in FL?!?!
