Heather and I went to see her oncologist this morning. The doctor said she was a champ after her first chemo and was really impressed with how Heather’s body handled the medicine. Her white blood count was really low. Lower than they wanted. So they may up her neupogen shots from three to five times after chemo. Currently she goes in the following Friday, Monday and Tuesday after chemo to get these shots. So two additional shots means two more days at the doctor but we would rather have her counts up! She goes in for chemo on Thursday and they will check her blood work again and see if that is the route they want to take. While her white blood cells are low, Heather is more susceptible to infections so she needs to avoid large crowds, wash her hands frequently and just kinda lay low at the house. She also told us to be prepared for hair loss this week. We have wigs and scarfs ready to wear. Heather is just anxious for what day the actual “head shaving” will be… she is a natural planner and maybe a control freak … But other than that I think we are prepared to be bald!

- This is my wife, Heather. Otherwise known to her neices and nephews as Aunt Fancy. May 9, 2012 she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I created this blog to help friends and family keep up with her journey.
