As you know, immediately after eighteen months of writing and editing, my new book, Ten Years a Nomad: A Traveler’s Journey Residence, came out final month.
As opposed to my prior books, this is not a “how to guide” but a collection of recommendations, guidance, and stories from the road. It a memoir of my ten years backpacking the globe and the lessons I discovered along the way.
This book gets to the heart of wanderlust and what extended travel about the globe can teach us about life, ourselves, and our spot in the globe. (Or at least tries to.)
It is meant to show people today that if I, a sheltered nerdy kid from a little town, could muster the courage to do this and survive, you can as well!
Cheryl Strayed known as it inspiring. The Los Angeles Instances mentioned, “This book is not just for travelers it is for everyone who has wanted a lot more and has taken off to uncover it.” Tony Wheeler, the founder of Lonely Planet, loved it. So did Rolf Potts.
And, a lot more importantly, thousands of readers who maintain sending me messages that they couldn’t place it down and it renewed their wanderlust. (For a writer, that is the most effective point we can hear.)
More than the final month, I’ve completed a lot of interviews, videos, podcasts, and guest posts speaking not only about my book but how you can travel a lot more normally – and be a improved traveler when you do.

Right here are hyperlinks to obtain the new book:
Book Your Trip: Logistical Guidelines and Tricks
Book Your Flight
Obtain a low-priced flight by applying Skyscanner or Momondo. They are my two favored search engines since they search internet websites and airlines about the globe so you usually know no stone is left unturned.
Book Your Accommodation
You can book your hostel with Hostelworld as they have the biggest inventory. If you want to remain someplace other than a hostel, use Booking.com as they regularly return the least expensive prices for guesthouses and low-priced hotels. I use them all the time.
Do not Neglect Travel Insurance coverage
Travel insurance coverage will safeguard you against illness, injury, theft, and cancellations. It is complete protection in case something goes incorrect. I never ever go on a trip devoid of it as I’ve had to use it quite a few instances in the previous. I’ve been applying Planet Nomads for ten years. My favored providers that present the most effective service and worth are:
- Planet Nomads (for absolutely everyone beneath 70)
- Insure My Trip (for these more than 70)
