So many of you have asked me this so I figured I would answer the question here: Where did you get the name Fancy? Like the article said, my niece and nephew call me Aunt Fancy but it didn’t start with them. My last year in college I lived in a Washington, D.C. where I did an internship with The Ritz-Carlton Headquarters in their architecture and design department. I lived in a four story house right by the Capitol. Needless to say, I had lots of roommates, all of which worked on the hill for some sort of political party. I was somehow fortunate to land my own room that was the “master bedroom” of the house. It was at the top of the stairs complete with a fireplace, chandelier, private bath and an entire bookshelf I made just for my shoes. I was quite the little primadonna amongst all my other political intern roommates. One of my roommates, Graeme, decided my name was no longer Heather, but Fancy. And that is all anyone called me from there on out. I don’t even remember them calling me Heather while I lived in DC.
Shortly there after my niece began to talk and for as long as I can remember she has called me Aunt Fancy. The name stuck and the rest is history.
